Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Chicago, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 amβ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food at (773) 661-9739; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Traffic in Chicago peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Other than parking, this place was really good. Crab rangoon, I say yasotorn thai is better but it was very creamy and well fried. Highlight was thus ka prow moo krob. Although smaller on the portion size, this pork belly was perfectly seasoned and crispy. It was really good. Im noticing that crab fried rice is not what Im expecting from any thai restaurants, but I say tuk tuk had better one that other places. Drinks were also nice touchy, something different than thai ice tea with thst sour lemonade.

had this place on my list for a while and finally got around to trying it. i had heard really good things and it definitely lived up to the hype. i did have to wait a little bit, but not long at all and honestly it was totally worth it. the place is pretty small and super homey. i also really liked that the menu was just big enough without being overwhelming. i ordered the ka prow rad khao and the first bite instantly brought me back to thailand. i usually donβt order thai food around here because itβs hard to find thai food that really hits the spot, but this was so good. you can tell the ingredients are fresh and the flavors tasted really authentic. i also grabbed the mango sticky rice to go because i had an appointment and didnβt have time to eat it there. once i finally got to it, it was amazing too and the perfect way to end the meal. definitely would recommend and iβll absolutely be back.

We ordered 7 dishes for just 2 people because everything on the menu looked so goodβand we werenβt disappointed! Every single dish was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. We enjoyed every bite and would happily come back for more.

The food here was amazing! We ordered the papaya salad, pork belly, and pad thai. We ordered some dishes spicy, and the server was really kind about asking us about what spicy level we wanted for each. The papaya salad with a mild spice level was perfect for someone who doesnβt tolerate much spice. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweetness and presented so nicely! Also highly recommend the pork belly, which is super crispy and the flavor is very good. This restaurant is worth multiple visits and can easily become one of your favorites.

The service was amazing, thank you Yaya for your hospitality. The food was incredible. The Crab Rangoons were probably the best Iβve ever had. The pad see ew and laab were also delicious and authentic. It felt like we were in Thailand. So lucky we chose this spot for lunch while in the city. Couldnβt recommend this place enough.

Incredible diverse and flavorful Thai food. The crispy pork, the chicken pad Thai, and the chicken lettuce wraps were all amazing in their own way. No reservation but it moves quickly. And the food comes out so fast!

Been wanting to check this spot out for forever but could never decide what I'd want to order, everything sounded delicious... Finally got to come in and wow!! Can't believe it took me so long. We had the pork neck, fried snapper, and tuk tuk papaya salad. It was all delicious, perfect amount of spice and so so flavorful. The snapper was especially a hit :) Taro custard is my favorite dessert ever and I couldn't wait to try theirs (I've been making it myself and love to be able to taste it from local spots to see how I can improve). The waitress told me they were out but she'd double check for me. I figured bummer, it was near closing so totally understandable if they ran out, I'll just go in earlier next time. Bam, turns out they still had some; such a small thing and I'm sure they'd do that for anyone, but absolutely made my night!! (And it ended up being the best taro custard I've ever had β€οΈ). Ate it too fast to be able to grab a picture haha Already planning my next visit! :)) [Note: it's BYOB with a small corkage fee, we were charged $4/bottle of soju]

Very tangy and line papaya salad but refreshing indeed. Laarb had lots of one herb and could do more of flavor and less tang as well. The cucumbers added a nice touch of different flavor which helped balance the salad. I enjoyed the crispy pork belly stir fried with nicely thin cut chinese broccoli, the tofu i added made it even more yummy. Rice smelled really good and cooked well, overall a great time. Bathroom is huge and clean feeling at home.
